Trouble with 1.6. Need a pro's advice!

I copied my myth 2 folder (c:\program files\Myth II) to a different folder and just installed v.1.6 to the original location. I then tried to run the exe file and it said that it couldn't find all the foundation files. Just for curiosity sake, i switched over to the copied folder and ran the old exe and it ran it fine. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions about what i'm doing wrong and how i could fix my little error.

Hmm well you need to be running 1.6 in the same folder as your original install. Is that what you are doing, or are you running it in a new folder without the tags, plugins, etc.? Welcome to myth!

You istalled 1.6 from magma site?
Myth requires Smackw32.dll to be in your mythII folder and I believe that you usually need to install 1.5 first and than 1.6 for all of the patches.
If your just upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6 and you want to keep 1.5 around you dont need two myth folders you just need the 1.6 icon. A few people dont realize that... also look for Pyros Noob Guide, Im not sure where its located but its rather handy for detials such as this (I dont think he has compleated that project yet).

Myth Starter Guide
Yeah, I still need to include a few things, but it is still useful.
You don't need to install 1.5 before 1.6, but if you are on Mac OSX you need to install 1.5.1 first. The reason is that the 1.5.1 installer works with the Myth II CD to install under Mac OSX. After that you update to 1.6. But everyone else just updates straight to 1.6 after installing Myth II.
If you ever wish to run an older version of Myth II or a newer version such as a beta of an upcoming update, then all you need to do is have the other "Myth II.exe" files renamed.
For example, let us say you installed Myth II 1.3. If you want to update 1.6 and be able to play with both, then rename the original "Myth II.exe" to say "Myth II 1.3.exe". Then update to 1.6 and you will have "Myth II.exe" which is 1.6 and "Myth II 1.3.exe" which is the 1.3 version.
Also, if you do make a copy of your Myth II folder, keep in mind all the shortcuts will still lead to the original folder. Shortcuts (like the one in the Start.. All Programs) don't edit themselves.
