Communication in the Digital Age

On a completely seperate and unrelated to anything currently being discussed anywhere else on this forum topic, in my internet travels I have often heard people explain (defend) their tendency to get misunderstood as a result of their not rereading or editing their posts - e.g. writing in an 'off top of the head' style manner. Sometimes it's worse, instead of just deflecting the responsibility for writing accurately, they actually attack the people who (taking what they wrote at face value) misunderstood them, blaming those people as haters or trolls or having a grudge against the writer. (I know, it's silly and hard to believe, but trust me, I have seenn it)
Personally, I think anyone who is old enough to have learned to write via some method other then IM/Chat and who is reasonably intelligent who does NOT edit/reread his/her posts is intelligent enough to understand that when one doesn't type what one means s/he is going to be misunderstood. Often.
I also think that a rational person who falls into that category and who is AWARE that s/he doesn't at least reread his/her posts to see if they say what s/he meant to say should be mature enough to take responsibility for any miscommunications that occur instead of lashing out at people who respond honestly to what was actually written.
In other words, be responsible for what you write and don't blame other people for misunderstanding you.
ps. If you are reading this and think I am writing about YOU, you are probably mistaken, you are probably just an arrogant egocentric jerk who thinks everything is about you. Trust me, it's not.
