Myth: TFL mission briefing illustrations

Ok, now I haven't played Myth: TFL in a while, but I used to repeatedly play the single-player campaign and I've been getting the itch to fire it up again. I was browsing some TFL related sites online when I came across one that recounts the Journal (ie, mission briefings) from Myth: TFL.

On that site, I noticed a number of illustrations that, by the looks of things, go with the mission briefings. The thing is, I don't remember these illustrations ever appearing when I played the game. Myth II had pictures like these, but in Myth: TFL all I remember getting was pictures of strategic maps and troop movements. The only time you got illustrations in Myth: TFL was when you won or lost a mission.

You can see what I'm talking about at the site, here: http://www.mythjournals.com/tfl/crows-bridge/
Those illustrations on the right are what I'm talking about. All other entries for Myth: TFL on that site also have images like those ones.

Does anyone know where those pictures come from? Am I just remembering everything incorrectly? And if not, is there some way to make them appear during the mission briefings when playing Myth: TFL? It's kind of bugging me that I can't remember having ever seen these pictures before...

They were never used in Myth TFL - dunno why - some say that they do not quite fit in Myth horror mood - i like em but M2 art seems to be bit better IMHO. People use em in 3rd party plugins sometimes.

Ah, so that's it. I'm glad to see that my memory didn't just fail me.

So how did these images get made public? Did Bungie release them on their website after TFL was released?

Actually that is half right. Some of those images are used, you just aren't remembering right. Some are not used but are still part of the files that make up the ones you see. Using a Myth collection tool you can extract them.

Try playing TFL or at least The Fallen Levels, the Myth 2 plugin that lets you play TFL levels.

Just checked the first few levels on The Fallen Levels v2, and like I said: they only show the strategic map pictures with the troop movements on it, none of the illustrations. I guess it's just some unimplemented content like Tireces said - they probably had it produced but changed their minds about including it at the last minute (or maybe forgot to enable it :P)

Yes some pictures are used. I have my Myth 1 CD and some pics show up.

Nope. I just reinstalled Myth: TFL (and applied the 1.5 patch) and tested this out.

Other than the strategic maps (ie, the very first image for each mission briefing, showing troop movements etc), none of the illustrations appear. Like I said earlier, they are the only ones I remebered seeing, and didn't recall seeing any other mission briefing illustrations (well, except in the Tain, where the background shows an illustration too). Maybe there's a plugin that makes them show up, but they do not show up by default.

This is accurate. Along with the Mahir and the Dirigible. Never used.
