I was checking www.the-package.net forum and also recently read the post here on projectmagma: is myth still alive...
and I guess at a time where the new posts per day are none to 1 and maybe weekends 5 to ...
and at the package has 1 new post per month...
and they say the average playmyth games are tops 200...in the whole world...
I read this posts about people freaking about myth dying...
I guess it's a dull thing to bring the subject again, but...
I just wanted to post my thought about it.
What makes after 6 years! myth still NEW and interesting for me?
the reason it never ends.
the reason I can just wake up one morning and say:
Hey! I think I saw a movie about this and that, and I would love to create those units and that world and put it to fight and live and breathe...
The reason no matter how much time goes by, you can still see somethng you never saw before in a new creation, in a new world, in a new imagination, dream or fantasy world that was not there before.
I can play total war and see 10,000 troops at the same time on a battlefield, but I'm doomed to play the same thing over and over again.
I can create a great civilzation in empire earth, but have to go through a 1000 page manual to learn how to play and eventually I'm doomed to the same things in the end.
What I'm saying is that if (in my opinion of course) myth greatest advantage is the possibility of creating new worlds through loathing and fear...
the lack of a centralized site (without being fragmented into several ones with particular preferences of worlds and units) where everybody in a nice environment, can post and download new creations and share new worlds is definitely deteriorating the biggest thing I belive it has.
I know my possibilities and limitations, and I know I can do units, maps, scripting and models,
but deffinitely have no idea of web development and unfortunately! I'm not rich to pay others to do so...sigh
so if it's true prayers are answered....here i go...
