How to install linux on a mac? I just recently brought a clamshell mac to put linux on. I was wondering if there was a website out there that could tell me how to do this. Also what type of linux would you recommend installing?

If you are looking for a website, I would suggest you try one of the many search engines. for starter try searching google/bing/yahoo for

How to install linux on a clamshell mac

If you want to get more specific try searching for "How to install linux on a clamshell mac" (with quotes)

That should get you started.

As far as I remember the preferred Linux flavour for older Macs like that is Yellow Dog Linux, however compatibility for PowerPC based machines has improved somewhat despite Apple's move to Intel, partly because of all the consoles with PowerPC based chips in them right now, so there may be other variations you could try.

However, Yellow Dog Linux is likely still the preferred one, and you may even need to get an older version of it, as newer Linux versions may not support older PPC chips.

a reply might prove me wrong, but I have this weird feeling that post is a bot.

Is it the bland genericness and lack of myth mention or the suspicious links that tipped you off?

(doh. I hate when I reply to these things)
