My intel mac doesn't allow me to play games on myth
it shows plugs as incompatible, even though same plugs work with my old powerbook not intel
any ideas?
thanks!

What does your myth_log say? Are you on 1.7.2?

What do you mean "it shows plugs as incompatible"?

if you mean the icon isn't a myth2 plugin icon, don't sweat it.

i had that at one point but the plugins still worked.

myth does run fine on an intel mac, even a low end one.

if your plugins really aren't working try uncompressing them again, use stuffit expander if unArchiver (or whatever apple calls it's decompresser pgm) isn't unzipping things correctly.

It shows all games in red in marius net
but if I grab the same plugins and copy them to the other mac I can play fine
I reinstalled myth and still the same...
Point told me he heard somebody had the same problem, so I thought it was common, maybe I need to erase myth and install it from scratch again...?

Yea I'm suspect if you tried to join any of those red games you'd get an error of "Game Data does not match" rather than "you're missing such and such a plugin". Perhaps something went funky during the transfer of your base tags folder? Try stuffing or zipping the tags folder from your PC or other Mac and drag those over, then decompress on the intel mac?

cool, I'll try reinstalling everything....as it seems it shouldn't be happening by the responses. so obviously something's funky with the computer install....

thanks guys!

If you have the original M2 CD, just download the 1.7.2 updater, pop in the CD, and run the updater. It will pull all the required stuff it needs from the CD and make you a nice shiny 1.7.2 folder install :-)

thanks, yes I'm on 1.72 sorry I never played online again so didn't try that one
not sure why it should say anything, it doesn't crash, it just shows games on red
and if I try to join them it says "Game Data does not match" as Graydon says
would it still show the reason why on the log?
I'll try both things though, thanks guys!

Yes, I still want to see the log (for the 4th time). :? Want help or not? If yes, copy/paste the log.

Finally! :P There is your problem. The following files are not standard and should either be deleted or at least removed if you want to keep them.

Patch 1.2.1
Patch 1.3.1
Patch 1.4 Interface.1
Patch 1.4.1

They are likely copies of the others with ".1" added to the end. Delete them and you should be fine.
