Me and three friends are playing Neverwinter Nights online, and I was wonderring if anyone here wanted to join us. The earliest we usually start is 9PM MST, and the latest we usually end is 6AM MST. Those are of course the extreme ends of both. We are playing basic NWN, so you don't need the expansions.

MB. I bought it about a year ago to play with some woohooligans. We played for a while, but it was hard to find a time when all of us were available. When you play, drop me a line, and i might join you. Also check http://www.woohoolio.com I know at least 4 guys there used to play. They are all old school mythers.

for more info, go to mythforums and do a search on neverwinter,... i don't play there so i can't help u with pw'ds or server info or whatever else you might need

Expansions are too much money
It's like a monthly fee game with all of the expansions !

Tarous : Do you have any messenger applications ?

No password needed for it, though both expansions are.
For more info, instead of mythforums, head to http://www.roofgaming.net .

Just search for ROoFnet or ROoFGaming.net in the NWN server list under role playing. If you can't find it, just connect directly to the IP: 66.93.11.15

It's mostly some of the guys from RMA and most all of the remaining ROoF guys. There's at least one or two people there every night, and our "big" night for gathering is Tuesdays at 9pm EST.

p.s. Howdy Magma !! Long time no see guys :)

So that's where you are, PPE! :D

I seriously thought about getting our order into NWN after it first came out, and have been thinking about it again just recently.

I didn't know if it was playable with ancient dialup lines (a few of us still aren't DSL/cabled). I used to DM all the time "back in the day" and thought we might do NWN in parallel with our still-steady M2 gaming.

Is it playable with people on dialup? It's available for both Mac and PC right? (pardon my NWN ignorance)

P.S. Thanks for posting my news on MythForums! :D

Yup. it's both Mac and PC.

It is playable via dialup, I just don't know how the performance is playing that way. One of the ROoF'ers is currently reduced to dialup, so I'll ask him and let ya know :)

I would suspect it's decent enough to play as he still logs in regularly though.

Just got a response from ClanKeith of ROoF.

He says:

"I play on an AOHell dialup and i get pings ranging from 200ms to 500ms. Not too shabby. Lag is minimal and usually unnoticable. I'd say it's perfectly playable over dialup."

And there ya have it, so run out and get NWN immediately, hehe :D

and on the earlier question:

yes it's available on MAC and PC
mac version works with PC CD key (in case you wanna download) (illegal, unless you own mac cd's)
PC expantions can be installed on MAC (with PC cd keys) (legal)

so for 40$ (platinum pack) you can have the full game (if you dl the mac basic version) with all 3 cd-keys

Well, actually, downloading the Mac version after purchasing the PC version is not legal. BioWare published the PC version, and MacSoft published the Mac version.

Although, it is still an alright thing to do in my mind considerring the fact that Mac NWN + Both Expansions is $100 US, and PC NWN + Both Expansions is $40 US.

But, it doesn't matter since I only have basic NWN. Can't play on RoOf server with that .. ):

You can get the Platinum Edition, it's basic NWN plus both Expansions... it's like $40-$45 US.

Not sure if there's a mac version of it yet, but the PC version has been out for a bit over a month now.
