Port Forwarding

I know this question gets asked alot, but mine is a little different (I think.) And I can't find a solution anywhere.

I live in central new york while I'm in college, Ithaca to be precise. I am forced to use Time Warner Cable. They do not support port forwarding, nor do they allow a user access to their router's username and password. I, however, got in using UN: user, PW: user. I seem to have full permissions.

I set up a static IP on my computer. I forwarded port 3453 for that IP. I checked that port using the online open port check tool. Connection times out everytime. Moreover, it detects my IP as 67.255.21.109, which is not my local IP, but the WAN IP.

Any ideas?

thanks,

The Mnet tool requires you to try to host so it can look for that connection.

I second this. This is important. When I was trying to get hosting to work a couple of months ago, I forgot (if i ever knew) that I had to be actively hosting a game of Myth on mariusnet WHEN I tried the mariusnet host checking page or it wouldn't work.

I wasn't using the Mnet tool. I was using canyouseeme.org

You'd still need to host even for that tool.

Why don't you just try hosting a game on mnet and see if people can join it?

I've tried. People always say their game freezes when they try to join =/
