Should run Myth 2 perfectly out of the box too... max resolution and settings @ >60. I'll be very tempted to try this out when it is released :)

Not cheap, but it's basically a full computer in a tablet form factor (with all the associated gadgets there too). Not a bad one either!

oof $1000+? it better be a full computer for that price, heck it better be 2 or 3 full computers.

Yeah it's basically a (pretty decent) laptop in a tablet-sized machine. It has a pretty decent dual core 2nd gen i5 w/ hyperthreading, lots of RAM, fairly big SSD, a nice screen, etc. Plus it has all the tablet stuff like GPS, 3G, accelerometers, cameras, multitouch, stylus, etc. Then you add the cost of a full operating system...

It's definitely a "premium" product, but that's the sort of thing I want. I don't really like the compromises that current tablets make in terms of computational power and stripped-down/simplified OSes.

I can see that. I tend to look at tablet computers as more of a computer-lite - designed for content consumption rather than creation. i might not actually create anything of value, but i at least like the option(illusion) that i can if i choose. computers were always cool because of what you could do with them, they are cool tools. the current lite-tablets are more like consumer electronics - more like TVs than a magical toolbox.

Yeah definitely true. That said, even with a primarily consumption device I just don't like the notion that I don't have the power even if I need it. I want to always have the ability to drop down and do whatever.

And when it comes to paying more for faster hardware, I'm almost always willing to do it, even on a device that I may only very rarely use the power. I just like things being as fast as possible ;)

No problem! FYI I just ordered one of these... I'm far too interesting in playing around with a touch interface in Myth a bit to pass up the opportunity ;)

Like I said, not cheap... about the price of an equivalent laptop (ultrabook say): a little over $1000 CAN.
