Making a Myth Movie

So, I won't be starting this until I get a new computer, and I am pretty set on buying a new iMac. It will have software so I can make a Myth Movie. Is Fraps my best option for recording pieces of myth films to use, or is there another program that is easier to use and what not?
My goal is to make it the most epic MWC promo movie out there. Ducky currently has the one that shows the finals of the first few MWC's and some pretty cool background music. I have a few songs picked out that will capture the emotions of the whole MWC/Myth experience, and my goal is to leave the viewers emotionally moved by the film.
Any other tips on where I can find some good graphics, like if I make an opening scene where the Myth II: Soulblighter emblem gets zoomed in on, and other graphics pertaining to the game? I am not going to half-ass this, I want it to be absolutely perfect for all to enjoy. Thanks for any feedback.

There's a good source of myth art/concepts/logos on the press disk, located in my hl folder, (not linking because every bot will leach bandwidth, I'd assume), but it's called Press.iso, and it's like 600MBs, so it might take a good while to download. Still, art wise, that's probably the biggest source for what you will be looking for.

for logos the press folder is definitely the best source (and the highest resolution)
if you are looking for other myth related artwork/images you could try

Fraps is great, but it's Windows-only AFAIK. I think some people mentioned similar software for mac in the shoutcasting thread on the MWC11 forums.

You could look at Snapz Pro. It's not free, but it works.

according to this (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAX9lXlYu98) OS X Lion's version of QuickTime has a builtin Screen Recording function.
for anyone who isn't a Mac-ophile, OS X Lion is the latest version - the one that ships with all new macs, and QuickTime is a free video app that ships free with every Mac.

Yes, but if I remember right QuickTime doesn't allow you to record system audio on its screen capture. I think there are ways to work around it, but I don't know for sure.

Try using AudioHyjack, and starting the recording with something easy to sync up.

Okay thanks for the tips. Don't need TONS of graphics, so maybe the link VR supplied will suffice. Interesting thing to consider about the OSX/Recording features, I'll have to look more into that. That would be cool if the new Lion version can record in quicktime, but as someone said they are unsure if it also records the audio.

ScreenFlow is awesome. Well I've found it to be pretty handy.
