Good luck making sense of the Fear manual. In my experience, the only way to figure out how to use Fear is to screw around with it a LOT. The manual can be used as a reference to give you a vague idea of what you're doing, but don't expect to use it to actually learn how to do things.

Loathing, on the other hand, cannot be understood by any amount of blind tampering. For that, I would recommend Ares's scripting tutorial. It taught me everything I know.

Really? You don't like the fear manual? I read it and now I'm a fear master! :)

It was written in clear language with very simple explanations for complex functions and physics.

I was probably close to a fear master before, but now that I have the manual I'm even more masterful. :;):

Fear is a program that really needs a reference-style manual, where you look up the info you need to know.

Loathing on the other hand is more suited to a tutorial style approach. Personally I've never been a great fan of Ares' tutorial, as it has some bad advice in it that could really restrict your options as a scripter. Not using ATTA for melee units for example, when it is a perfectly valid action to use.

That said, its probably the simplest written introduction that does get a true newb up and running.

Speaking of bad advice, the site hosting Ares's tutorial attempts to install a slew of spy and malware onto your computer. DO NOT click on the link Phex posted if you're a Windows user.

Phex, if you read this before an admin, please edit out your link.

This is incomplete. But its an Idea i had to try to make the fear manual more useful. Would take a Decent amount of work to get it working for everything. Plus the new 1.5.1 Fear changes a few things.
Interesting none the less.
Clicking on "Dwarven Pathfinder Bottle Lit" Opens a new window.

Looks best in Firefox or Safari. IE has some CSS Issues, Especially on the Second Page.
