I just thought I'd let everyone here know that I have released a map. It'll be hell to get people to play, so I'm posting on a few forums. It is 12.6mb and zipped. You can download it at
www.onstable.com/ref1

Please leave some thoughts and comments !

Here is a short description:

ref1, a multiplayer pure and wwii map by sillek.

This map is set in a large green valley. It includes four small villages as well as four farmland areas, complete with crops and animal pens. There is a dried out creek bed in the middle of the area, with an island in the centre.

I initially scanned it for the words "ww2" and "reg", neither of which appear. Some parts were posted twice so I kinda skimmed though it. Sorry for wasting your time.

Don't worry..I have plenty of time. I don't really like numbers, so I often use roman numerals. ie WWII..

Oops..I just noticed that I double posted the download part of the post. Sorry ):

Its extemely boring and very bland.

It was pretty good. This your first time making a map?

My first map that was released. I've only given previous ones to friends.

Right now I am working on learning scripting, so I can make a solo/co-op.

I tested your map.

It is ok overall, especially for a first release. There are some minor bugs (i.e. hunting creatures cant be targetted) and some thing you could have done better (different color for dead ghols for example - bright yellow looks ugly). Some tactical refinements, like impassiable terrain in the center would also have been nice.
But altogether and especially when concerning the fact that this is your "first" map, it looks pretty good! Keep up improving your skills!

Thank you very much for the detailed comments. I always appreciate more than "it looks good" or "it looks ok"

I will try to remember these thoughts and others' thoughts when making my upcoming map.

As for the ghols..I wasn't aware that I could change their colour ! And I hope the house next to them was on fire for you. Somewhere along the line, it only appeared that way in certain meshes. It was still on fire on other meshes, as I could see the reflection in the water, but the house only showed lights. Hunting... man... hunting is such a minute factor that I completely forgot about refining hunting.
