Hey all Magmateers

First off I'd like to let you all know that the MWC05 is currently being planned and I'd like to invite you all to participate. I believe Magma played last year and I hope to top whatever fun you guys had this year. There will be some changes to hopefully allow for some better, more enjoyable, early matchups. I hope you all field a team and take part in this sacred myth tradition.
Secondly, I would like to know what the state of the current updates is? The MWC is going to be this summer and I would like to try to plan it after any other further release to avoid added difficulties. Depending on the scheduling we could even use the QR rounds to help bughunt if necessary. That would be especially benificial if any found bugs could be resolved before the cup hits the elimination rounds.
Thanks fer the help.

I can't really speak for the others, but I will anyway. I'm pretty sure that quite a few Magmateers would be wanting to play. The question I guess is whether Magma fields a team or not, as its possible our guys could end up joining other teams. Thanks for the invite though, and hopefully we'll let you know soon :)

Re the update, as you know we've had 1.5.1 beta out for quite a while. Unfortunately it seems that most people have elected to stick to 1.5.0 until the final 1.5.1 is released. As a result we decided to leave the beta out there a long time (there are some players testing it) in order to find & fix as many bugs as possible. We were planning though to release the final 1.5.1 very soon, perhaps this coming weekend. Obviously we'd like it to be out there and everyone using it before MWC even starts, as using the QR's as beta testing just doesn't seem right.

If however a vital bug - for instance a significant gameplay quirk or a scoring issue - comes to light during the QR then a prompt fix would be good. We'll discuss that as a dev team & let you know what the plan is if that happens.

Btw are you organising it this year cheeze?

I would love to play and would try to motivate a Magma team, however, if the scheduling is like last year's, it's pretty much a moot point for me as I'll probably be at work for every match.

So, I'd like to suggest more variety in the scheduled fall back times (the hell of trying to get teams to play something other than fallback time is enough to make me not want to play again this year). I understand the difficulty for European players, but there is also a good portion of the Myth community that prefers to play during late evenings in the United States, including a lot of Project Magma.

Perhaps let each team pick two favored fall back times for the entire tournament from a reasonable list, and each match let the "defenders" (the higher rated team) have to pick one of the two times the "challenger's" listed.

My other request would be to throw in a couple vTFL matches to make things interesting. After all these years of the same old MWC maps with roughly the same players dominating, mb some variety is in order to avoid the feeling that it's only another tourney for the same small group of players that make it to the quarter or semi-finals every year.

Anyway, best of luck running it, CheeseFist!

Last year's fallback time was 11 pm and tho we had a lot of difficulty, other teams helped us get round this when possible.

vTFL matches would be real nice, but it means that players like me, who have TFL but suck @ it, would dominate players who've never done a single bit of TFL - which is unfair.
