Greetings All,

I'm trying to track down Soma - formerly of Creation fame. I've got an active posting on Clem's forum but wondered if anyone had recent contact information for him?

Thanks in advance!

It's not recent but have you tried ph.urlich@swissworld.com?

Thanks Orlando! I've fired off an email so we'll see what happens...

BTW, we really enjoy playing on "A Shattered Visage" - what a cool map! We play "Rocket Dorf Fest!!" on it all the time too and it's scary fun (especially Mini+Mondo Madness).

Two things we noticed while playing that I have not reported yet (:: slaps my own wrist ::):

(1) The FFA-light map is missing a couple of units on one start.

(2) The ball blaster for bacon games is way too strong. We played 4 of 4 games in a row where the ball ended up out-of-bounds. I made a ball blaster for a map that I am releasing publicly soonâ„¢, just enough to launch it anywhere from zero to the edge of the map, but if it's too strong it just inevitably gets stuck. For what it's worth, we just always play with it off on ASV which is a shame.

Wanted to let you know as it's a *GREAT* map!! :D

Thanks again for the email addy - I'll let you know what happens. :)

Thanks for the comments on my map. I'm glad people out there are playing it. Yes I'm aware the west team on FFA light is missing the free wights. I actually knew about this before, and I added them in. Unfortunately I accidently marked them as invisible (and not tradable on that mesh). I figured there was little use in updating the plugin so everyone would have to redownload it just for the 2 wights. I've fixed this in my private version but I doubt it will ever see the light of day.
I'm aware of the problems with the ball blaster as well but figured most people would just play without it. It would take too much effort for me to fix it. I'm not the most patient mapmaker out there, and I would have to make the change across all 8 meshes or however many it has. Not even sure how I would go about doing it
Unless there are more bugs found or someone wants to make a solo map for it (not sure how the gameplay could work solo) I probably won't release another revision.
I really am glad to hear you guys are playing it and enjoying it. I like to think there aren't really any maps quite like it in terms of strategic gameplay (I'm also proud that it has been in 2 tournaments thus far).

That is Soma's email from when he was in Anictolyte map making group back before he was even in Creation so there's a good chance it's no good. If that email bounces try contacting Clem, he might know of a newer one.

Yeah I definitely understand about not wanting to keep posting revisions - we do just fine turning the bacon games down from Legendary.

The Light map's missing units were only a problem for us because "Rocket Dorf Fest!!" is insanely fun on the map and missing a couple of units with it is a definite disadvantage. We get around that by simply using the Grey map instead.

For the ball booter I would just remove all but 4 exploding deer (leave like N/S/E/W or whatever) and check that their blast has a variable radius/dmg if it doesn't already, so the ball doesn't go the same way every single time. That would be a relatively quick fix. Just an idea if you ever decide to release another version.

That email address worked! We've been playing one of his maps and I have extracted a unit from it that converts units on all kinds of maps. I wanted to get his permission to post it publicly and he was surprised and pleased to give it. Was nice chatting with him, so thanks for getting it for me! :D

I recently tried sending an e-mail to this adress, requesting use of his map from UMS for my Myth Atlas (he was the only creator of UMS I had heard of, so I went after his contact details) but got no response =(

He was not the only creator of UMS, though he was probably the biggest contrubutor. There should be a readme file included with UMS to tell you who did what. Try PMing Baak about the email address since Baak contacted him.

I did check the readme, and his name was the only one I rekognised. I'd also heard that Baak had been in contact. I'll PM him, and sort things from there.

The email Orlando mentioned in the second post of this thread:

ph.urlich@swissworld.com

is the one that worked. :)

Wait. What does recognition have to do with anything ?

I asumed that meant he had been around more recently than the others.
