What is the number of kills you need to lose your vet instead of getting stoned by the Stoning guys ?

Ditto on random.
However, there may be a reason you perceive that the result is based on the victim kill number. As I recall there are two types of wraith, indistinguishable in game. The type that is more likely to devet shows up more often later in the game. Early in the game the wraiths are more likely the type that is more likely to freeze. Of course early in the game your units also have fewer kills.

so just do the level backward and you might see them first. How to do it backward? well thats still to be discovered, 1.6 mb?

Heh, I May just be really lucky, All the times I remember being stoned was just after having all my vets stolen !
