There seems to be reference that the 1.5.1 update makes fear and loathing work on OS X, however that does not seem to be the case for me. I don't have classic installed and I need to get my formations set up for MWC play tomorrow... any tips?

As I've said one hundred thousand times, THERE IS NO FEAR OS X.
Reason = Fear code was so screwed that Magma considered it best to build other tools that can do the job and more instead. Those tools are yet to be completed.
Examples are Oak and Lono.
You must ask someone who has classic or is a pc user to setup formations to your specifications.

I've been off these forums too long. I thought Fear was being 90% recoded from scratch. Now I find they're not even doing that much.

As Horus said, as soon as the programmers saw the poor shape of the fear source, fear for OS X was deemed to be more work than it was worth, and effort was focused on building replacements instead.

Sorry for asking again... I did Google it and search the forum, but didn't find anything very quickly. I think it was the announcement that Loathing works for the first time under OS X that had me thinking Fear should work as well...

Don't worry about it Jiblet. Some people check these forums multiple times a day and get upset seeing repeat questions. The magma staff doesn't really mind the questions, in fact it helps drive them to get the job done. Apparently Loathing was a relatively easy port to OSX compared to fear and that's why Loathing got ported and Fear didn't.

heh Loathing wasn't really that easy....The problem with Fear is it was written using PowerPlant C++ frameworks from Metrowerks and needless to say PowerPlant has seen more then a few changes and rewrites in the last 8 years. Since none of us have programmed using PowerPlant no one has stepped up to the plate.
Especially since there are several replacements in the works. Now if someone knows Powerplant well the OS X port of Fear could be a weekend type of project(please contact me if you are this person). For those of use that don't it's many weeks of work.
And yes I did hear that someone had a Fear replacement 90% of the way done, but they have been AWOL for years now and no once seems to know how to find them.
