is it my safari that's broken, or something in the forum? as of 2 days ago I cannot see my avatar here in the forum

I don't see your avatar at the moment. I do see the avatar for others that have them. There is a box for your avatar and a caption above that says "User avatar."

I do not have an avatar.
By the way, I am using Firefox 128.5.1esr (64-bit) on an openSUSE Linux 15.5 system.
Have you tried reloading your avatar?
