How would you describe Maeldun, Murgen, Cu Roi, and Rabican? I know we don't know about them much, but how would you think they are... personality and style of doing things. Even something simple like... what color are their clothes. Anything.
We all know Rabican is the one on the left side. Maeldun is the avatara at the right side. Though I still would think that Bungie was lazy and its Alric in the center instead of Murgen. But whatever.
"The cities of Scales, Covenant and Tyr have all fallen to him in the last three weeks. It seems that too many years of peace have softened the once legendary armies of the West. Rabican, Murgen and Maeldun have been dead sixty years, and today only Alric remains of the great leaders who defeated the Fallen Lords."

Clearly, Rabican is a mighty General, and therefore since all must have balance is probably the least accomplished Dreamer. Which makes his defeat of Shiver even more impressive. He is the Patton of the Nine, men are inspired to be lead by him. And his genius at tactics made it a War of sixty years instead of sixty days.
Maeldun is the Omar Bradley, no slacker at tactics, but a better Dreamer and an artful general, the rapier to Rabican's Claymore. He has a fondness for sucking lemons. And is clearly from Tyr.
Why do we believe that Rabican is the one on the right?

No not right. Rabican is the one one the left as shown in a pic attacking Shiver. ugh I cant find the image.
Edit: I found it.
"I believe I have read of this in the journal. Shiver was defeated at Madrigal by her own vanity, thanks to advice given by the still living head of one of the Fallen Lords' old enemies. I wonder where the head is now; we could certainly use the help."

I used to think it was Alric in the middle, but if you look at his hat it's pretty different. It's not hard to imagine that he's merely a similar looking magician - maybe he's a different colour too.
How would I describe them, you say?
Rabican - one of the Nine.

Yeah I've seen people say its a different hat but look at his face... its tilted up slightly, so at that angle the hat appears shorter. And about the decriptions, we know they are part of The Nine but some of us you know have imaginations... it sounds crazy I know :;): but maybe you have a certain image of one of them to be a certain way and style and etc.

Rabican, a man of action much more in preference to doing things with blood, sweat, and steel. Most likely a Northerner. Dream spells are most likely his last resort.
Maeldun, a sorcerer from the looks of him (most likely his preference). Perhaps likes to keep a reputation for turning people into frogs (mysterious, short spoken etc). We also know from one of the flavour texts that he is tenacious ("Maeldun's only words on returning exhausted to Tyr from a long campaign in the East to find half the city burning after a raid by pirates from Leix were 'Show me the way to Leix.").
Murgen seems to be (from the look of him), more of a balance between the two, but we know so little of him it's hard to tell.
Cu Roi I'd say may perhaps be a fir'Bolg going by the sound of his name (perhaps maybe even a Forest Heart native Shaman?).
A-Red (the Onyx Warlord Wordsmith, one of the partners in the TFV project) also came up with some info for two of the other members of the Nine, for some of his other Onyx projects (their not Bungie official characters, but they are Onyx official :p ). Perhaps he'll post details.

Yeah any ideas would be great. Since there is very little "official" info on them it can't hurt getting a general consensus of what most people think of when they think about these characters. The reason I'm doing this is that, now that I'm back on Myth again, I'm going to continue to work on my plugin 'Fallen Heroes' I left behind months ago.... and months before the last time. And I have some ideas for different special attacks for the Avatara so each has a different one. But it hasn't yet been implemented. At least I updated the look of my Myth page.

This is actually a very interesting topic which I am glad someone brought up, as I myself wondered about stuff like this while going through Myth's "Mythtory". Everyone can add any additional information they have.
So here's what we got so far about The Nine:
1- Alric: Lots of information, 2 unit models, & sounds.
2- Rabican: Some flavor texts, 2 pictures, custom rendered unit.
3- Murgen: 1 picture, a few flavor texts
4- Maeldun: 1 picture, one flavor text, nothing more.
One of the Nine. He was severely wounded in battle at Bagrada near the end of the Great War.
-Maeldun Description, Glossary, Myth II Manual
5- Cu Roi: No known pictures, few flavor texts, nothing more.
"One of the Nine. A powerful sorcerer who opposed Balor during the Great War. He was trapped in the Tain along with Murgen and the Legion, and died when the Tain was destroyed during their escape."
-Cu Roi Description, Glossary, Myth II Manual
6-9- No names no nothing. I wish Bungie would have done a little more with that.

Some people think of fir'Bolg when they see the name Cu Roi. And he helped in convincing the Forest Giants to help them once more. Not that he IS a fir'Bolg but we could imagine him as a long bearded sorceror that was more familiar with nature I suppose. Just remember this is not 'official' based, but no one seems to want to create these characters. Bungie won't come here and tell us more about them... there probably never was any more info on them then what we already know. So I say the Myth community could at least create a little more background for some of the Avatara. It can't hurt, right? :;):

But of course.
I have my own ideas on all of this, and really wanted to actually put some of them out there but I don't think it's my place to try and invent a backstory and suddenly expect people to accept it. Heck, think of the lovely disagreements we'll all have if it's done wrong?

You would have to say something way out there for people to argue on this... like I said we all know the offical info. So why not. If you have something interesting that COULD be added to the Nine then go for it. And if somebody doesn't agree or like it, nothing happens its all what we think and ideas we add from each other.
Does anybody know if others have tried to create a new Avatara collection.... other than Iron's Rabican unit of course.

I change my thoughts on Cu Roi,
Methinks either he's an Easterner from beyond the Untamed Lands or a halfbreed (ie Human/fir'Bolg).

So we don't have any information on the other members of the 9?

In actual Celtic legends Cu Roi was a great sorcerer whose principal skill seems to have been as a shape shifter. His only described role in Myth was as diplomat to convince the Forest Giants to help again. I think as a shape shifter he would be an excellent spy/diplomat, and while I see no reason why he can't be an Easterner from beyond the Untamed Lands, I'm not sure he can be a Fir'Bolg half breed as I'm not sure that the Forest Giants would be cool with the flame arrow people (if we go with the assumption that the Fir'Bolg actually had them and we just didn't get them because of software problems)
