I'd like to see QuickTime support for cutscenes. Smacker is a crappy codec in today's world (don't get me wrong - it was great back in '98 when we all had 8-bit graphics). Besides, Smacker doesn't work with Intel Macs and the tools to create .smk files are Windows only.

I didn't know UnTag worked for PC. As for Topaz, I don't know how to extract multiple tags from a plugin with it- only one at a time. Maybe its just me, but I don't think it has that option. But anyway, thanks for the link. Just as an FYI: UnTag also has an "Extract All" option quickly du...

Yes of course it's a mirror Elf, that's why the url is mything.org and not vistagames.com. Wait! Oh, man! Waaaaaait! Are you... are you saying that all those maps and things on mything.org is just a mirror? And all this time I though VR was this really really talented guy with tons of time on his h...

BUNGiE should've been using Quicktime anyway.... SMK is such an archaic and useless video format. Speaking of which...how difficult would it be to add Quicktime support to Myth for cutscenes? I can already feel the argument coming about how no one uses cutscenes so I'll pre-counter strike: No one u...

snip... For some reason I can't remember what Mythed did even though I used it in the past. I believe it was also used to extract stuff, in OS Classic. snip... Mythed was a tag extractor only for TFL for Mac. UnTag basically replaces Mythed and Tag Extractor (for Mac) as UnTag will work with TFL, S...

Message Board error?

I've encountered what I think is an error with the new message board here on PM.net. I click on Profile, then scroll down to "Board Style" where it is currently set to "Magma". If I change that to anything other than Magma or subSilver then save changes, I get the following error...

Re: Cutscene .smks?

The tags from cutscenes.gor are 'modified' SMK files. They have a Myth header added onto them. Basically, there's 64 bytes of 'garbage' at the beginning of the smk files which prevents the Smacker player from recognizing them as 'true' SMK files. Fixing the files is rather simple. Get yourself a Hex...

I've got the feeling that VR's hard drive is worth its weight in gold. Like opening up King Tut's tomb or uncovering part of the Library at Alexandria, there's probably some priceless treasures in there. :;):
