Just the app, and It works only on Windows. I figured, and there's the catch. If they shutdown the server, just giving the app away isn't "enough". When I say I hope they give over their software, I mean their source too. Otherwise how could any future interested party maintain a server? ...

Is it source code or just the app? I'm on Mac so downloading the .exe (a zip, or the actual app?) seems pointless.

Just go to eBay or Amazon, you can probably get a sealed, new copy, delivered, for about $10 total, including postage. I recently bought M2 (mis-placed mine, thought it was lost), M2: Worlds, & Green Berets, each for about $10 delivered, and each includes a copy of M2.

Myth II is going to dissapear in November of this year because a rogue programmer at Bungie planted a virus in the code that makes all the install on HDs and original CDs erase themselves on the 10 year anniversary of Myth's release. Should you or any of your Myth forces be caught or killed, the ho...

Wheee, I now have a brand-new copy of Myth II: Worlds via eBay! Of course, I have no time to play it for quite some time :P

As for the myth requirements, I'm not on a mac, but I'm pretty sure the requirements haven't changed beyond the need for 64mb of ram. Can anyone verify this? I can tell you that on OS 9 the app is tagged as requiring 100MB to run and preferring 192MB. If you attempt to force it to use less than 100...

What we need... A good web page...a movie... then only after that get the demo posted to file share locations/promoted as much as possible and get the movie on YouTube & Google Video. The movie needs to include a reference to the web page. Pimping on forums is a good idea too. I made a tiny JPEG...

I think it's great that MNet & PMNet both exist...Myth is such a unique game, I'm glad it hasn't died. I just hope if either PrplPplEater or the PMAs ever decide to close their server, they give over their software to anyone that might want to continue running a server.

True, it can be, in the right dosages. I guess Myth wouldn't be Myth without all the variety that can go on in it.

>such insanities as "M2 is better"

It isn't? <ducks>

I'd hate to see gameplay changed much. Nothing else is like Myth, even today. Deformable terrain would be very cool, but probably too much work to add that. I guess I'd be most interested in graphical enhancements, though what could be done without breaking compatability with older maps I'm not sure...

Trow were indeed a lot stronger in Myth TFL, but that was a "side effect" of anti-clumping (I think). In Myth 2 you can get a bunch of meele units clump together and attack a trow, which ensures that most of them will be able to do some damage before dying. In Myth 1 that was not possible...

Ahhh, if only that were true. Though I did buy more RAM for my old desktop so I could play Myth on it.

Oh yeah, I think I remember that now from TFL! So someone really did spend the time to add this option just for such a minor graphical tweak. Hmmm.

The point is that they weren't in M2 at all. I find them convenient for orienting units. I don't get it...I'm running Myth II, patched to 1.6, on a Mac, haven't checked that checkbox, yet I get gesture arrows just fine and think I always did in M2 (either by click & drag on highlighted units to...
