Well yea I'm sure it worked fine, and I understand you didn't find a reason to troubleshoot it. I was just curious if you happen to know any of the differences between them. Oddly enough it was the computer that he uses all the time and keeps updated. It was an error message about an InstallShield ...

Were both updated to have at least Service Pack 1? I can't be sure but it is possible that the XP user that doesn't have certain updates, needs to do that to install Myth2. Well they both worked fine. All compatibility mode was for was the install, after that it was fine so I didn't see any sense i...

I installed Myth II on two of my friends computers running Windows XP. One needed Win 98 compatibility mode, the other didn't. So who knows!Death's Avatar wrote:Awesome! Get them over to mnet. INJECT THE LIFE. Or something...

PS. YOu got to look into the compatibility mode thing: you shouldn't need it!

That was my attempt to get some people into Myth and Myth II as mentioned in this thread:

And come back here to projectmagma and find the 1.6 update in the Downloads. That's what'll have the recent Fear and Loathing that Pyro mentioned. Thetain.net (redirects) is a great place to find tons of 3rd party maps, campaigns, and tagsets. It's a great game. I found out about Bungie when they c...

I think that downloading the demo as Pyro suggested is the best way to get a feel for Myth. Obtaining a copy of Myth II Worlds (which includes Myth II as well as lots of other goodies) should only set you back $10 if you're in the US. Maybe $15-20 if you're in Canada. From there you can update Myth ...

Hmmm? I run Windows XP and I have never had to do this to install Myth II. Maybe XP users without some of the service packs have issues, but I wouldn't know since after a reformat I update XP before reinstalling Myth II. Or perhaps the older versions of Myth II have this issue. For example if you b...

I appreciate what you're trying to do but I think it would be more advisable to cut down on the gameplay videos all over the place and maybe have some text as to what Myth is. A few days ago I made this thread on another forum to interest people there to play some Myth and Myth II: http://img4.uploa...

That's because those two options didn't exist until the 1.4 update. Well it was just one option at first but in the 1.4.1 update it became two. Keep in mind Bungie's last update was 1.3. The vTFL option makes Myth II have the same (or really close) way of playing that Myth TFL had. Certain things t...

Anti-clump / TFL Gameplay: What is the difference?
Alright I've scoured the internet looking for an answer and I have come up completely dry. There's not one in the Myth II manual, the Myth II Strategy guide or any online guides that I can find at all. Looking up Anti-clump or TFL Gameplay on Google only yields information about plugins using these ...

Yes, perhaps, but no one here has the authority or right or ability to make the game 'freeware' so that's the problem. Me or you (for example) deciding we want the game to be freeware so making it available for free download isn't making the game 'freeware', it's just making us pirates. [v]R My pos...

Make this game Freeware, it is what i think the only option to lure more players to the myth community. I think this is the only way to do it. It's hard to convince friends to play a game when it's over 10 years old and it costs like $20-30 to buy it and get it shipped to you because it's not avail...
