Aha. Good thing someone actually posted a picture. Note that those elongated toes are add-ons to the armor. Each of them attaches with 3 little bolts. There's another toe underneath, and that one is meant for riding only. Then again, Balor doesn't ride much in Myth AFAIK. Which is where it all break...

... the whole point of those pointy toes being that the foot should find the stirrup and stay there (same as for cowboy boots)

I made one, and I was going to make more, until I realised that Fraps and Windows Movie Maker is a deadly combination that I do not wish to tread near EVER AGAIN. -TGP- Huh? why's that? I'm one happy user of the Fraps/WMM tandem :) Of course, the overlay and 30-second limitation is not really nice....

Instead of asking all these questions, you should grab a copy of Myth II and check it out for yourself... Maybe, maybe not... Maybe this summer, maybe in my next life :) If Myth is at all addictive, it's a risk I can't afford to take. And as it goes, I took a "vow of chastity" with respec...

Wow. I'd be glad to hear some sound samples, but your descriptions already made my day (erm, my night, to be precise). So the Dorfs would be the comic relief in Myth... That's good to know. Another things that's good to know: they say "Blam"?! That would mean that the infamous "Damn! ...

"Whoops! Sorry about that, Konoko..." is indeed meant as a reference to Myth's "Dorfs". It can be found in Oni's resources along with "She's everywhere!" Unlike the Comguy taunt and Balor, those 2 don't appear ingame: they can only be heard on the bonus track of the pro...

I think the 'don't frog blast the vent core' was purely an Oni reference to the Marathon saying. I've never heard it anywhere else, anyway.
Maybe, but I still want to hear Cobalt say that about his signature. Maybe he knows better :)

Hexing was mainly used for editing Myth TFL tags. Fear and Loathing were released along with Myth II. The aqcuisition of the source code came long after that That explains a lot. Thanks for the overview of F&L, too. _______________ DemOni is here! (well, actually HERE ...) OK, this would be the...

Thank you. The origin of "frog blast the vent core" is well known and documented indeed. My question was about the sentence "Okay, Okay, DON'T Frogblast the ventcore." in Cobalt's sig. Did that sentence appear in any famous context to which Oni's Easter egg would be a reference? ...

Cobalt, I've always wondered about the origin of "Okay, Okay, DON'T Frogblast the ventcore." (your sig). Oni's Comguys (also voiced by Doug "Voice of BoB" Zartman) happen to say that exact phrase sometimes. I assumed that Easter egg was referring either (indirectly) to Marathon o...

Only a few people have access to the source code. So hexing was the only way to figure out tag structure. I see... Only (still confused) in what sense did F&L make it easy to create plugins, then? :( Actually, Vengeance does read plugins. It's exactly what it does. Indeed. Had another look at i...

Heh. I'm still confused about the amount of source you guys had. Why did anyone have to hex-hack anything if you had the whole source all along? As for Vengeance: we had a look at the source a short while ago, once our tag structure was long figured out. There is the very same "template manager...

Plugins: Myrd didn't really make it obvious that plugins were stored separately and only loaded by the game's engine, at runtime. (the alternative would have been that Fear & Loathing be used: by the modders, to fabricate a set of tags that they'd release instead of whole archives; by the end-us...
