Re: The Myth II Handbook - anyone read it?
haha! god, the old days. g'day, ghost! long time no see, and good to see you! what are you up to? i usually tend to drift through the forums every so often and try to keep up on general goings on, but i've been so busy as to have no time for myth any more, though i got a few games and some time on u...

Re: The Lich King has awakened!
OMG! khel! great to see you're still around, and i'm amazed that you're still going, and proud. i'd love to see LoE released (or escaped?) into the wild. it's been such a labour of love for you. but let me put it this way - even if it never sees the light of day i'm still happy to have worked on it ...

sounds interesting. i'll be trying it out as soon as i can. :) not to nitpick too badly, but in myth lore burial is preferable to cremation. the spirits and undead that arise from the process of cremation are orders of magnitude more terrible than anything that can be reanimated and pulled (or compe...

This is almost definately impossible, you're not far off. ;) but what if the direction of the light source on a mesh could change over time. Basically creating a day night cycle. Shadows get longer as time passes and eventually cover the whole mesh simulating night, then eventually light reappeares...

shadow mapping like a pro
a brief recipe for the creation of custom shadow maps that will blow away anything produced in loathing. ingredients: 1 x photoshop or similar 1 x 3D program capable of applying displacement maps to meshes (e.g. bryce, or any respectable program) 1 x mesh complete with displacement map, light source...
