Re: Greetings

Unlike modern strategy games, the total number of monsters in myth that you may ever encounter is less than 50 or so. Over a little bit of play time, maybe a few more hours, and you should be starting to get a gist of which monsters are the strongest/largest threat, and which are weakest. Figuring o...

Re: Artifacts with Monster Override

Something might just be corrupted somehow. Have you tried making a fresh arti yet?

I'd also try setting the arti to a different monster restriction and seeing what happens; try modding the regular dwarf?

Re: Map Overheads

Probably not so easy for the detail textures. However, if you have photoshop or gimp or some image editor that handles layers... do yourself a treat and export each shadow map as well. Layer the shadow map over its counterpart colour map, then set the layer's blending mode to multiply. Gives a sense...

Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"

Magma has tried contacting T2 a number of times over the years. They have zero interest in doing anything with it themselves (little work as it may be to get it up on a place like steam, they simply don't care enough to bother). They would be interested in selling the rights, but last anyone in this...

Re: Blank 1.8 Installer

I'm still having this instance (completely blank freeze on launch) of the problem today, and I've run my updates. Was there ever an official fix for this? /Hi Myrd =)

Re: MYTH total war at TWC forums

I'm with JG, must acquire TW. Been eagerly awaiting this for months and months. I love how you never once compromised your quality control standard in an effort to get it released quicker. You held the line, and every single thing in there looks TOP NOTCH. Can't wait to get into some mouse clicking,...

Re: The new High-Def Myth 2 SB 1.8 Icon

When Myrd says Smaller sizes I think he means the 16x16 one, for lists. It's tricky to make it look like what it's supposed to with so few pixels. Curious on that one. I'm still a fan of mine. I have it available at 512, but Myrd didn't want it, so it's 256 only. Something about Vista or 7 not displ...

I've got a few fancy looking models to add environment to old growth forest feel that I've made for presently unreleased projects.... I might be willing to share em.

Viking ship is the intro prologue / outro epilogue maps VR. You may have also seen it amongst big waves on Parrots and Patches in TFV beta.

You resurrected a 6 year old thread. Did you check the last post date? Welly has been gone from these forums for years. Lol. :)

Re: attention unit makers ,

The question is kind of subjective to the person answering it. I can imagine someone who is very familiar with 3DS Max might tell you that downloading a pre-textured, pre-animated file is going to be extremely easy to produce into a unit. Someone who has never used 3DS Max (like yourself or myself) ...

Re: resizing mesh and tag moving ?

But no, there is no way to place a '8 line' in perfect spacing like it would when you use formations in game. That said, if you're scripting AI in formations, just place them loosely in the formation and then use the script to set the form they're to use and they'll straighten themselves out. As Pyr...

Re: resizing mesh and tag moving ?

As Pyro first suggested, the only way to accomplish this is at best, a workaround to redoing everything. First you'd take your existing mesh, export all the various 'maps' associated (terrain, displacement, media height etc) and save them somewhere, then go to Fear and duplicate the mesh tag. Second...

Re: Reflection Map - Help

You did something wrong if your explanation is accurate, or your phrasing is confusing me. I said export the blank one, import the blank one, then import your marked one you've made in PS or whatever app you're using. Also curious: After trying these various steps, check your Myth_log.txt and see if...

Re: Reflection Map - Help

I can only think that using the media/reflection mapping tool has mucked things up somehow. Have you tried importing the exported (blank) reflection map, then proceeding to import the actual (marked) reflection map in succession? Also worth noting, when you import a fresh Rmap, you need to close the...
