Not sure whether this was a new 424 build bug or just random, but just had a mazz game crash right to desktop. No film was recorded; no crash log written, but here is the regular myth_log.

Well, I am pretty much screwed. I get the same effect on all builds going back to the builds that wouldn't even run on my MacMini (in 410 my FILM goes OOS). The only solution I can see if I want to be able to use 1.8 is to disable whatever features of OpenGL have been added to 1.8 that weren't in 1....

My texture cache usually lives at 144MB but I lowered it to as low as 32MB and still had problems. I'll grab the previous privates and try the same test.

Can you post a 1.7.2 log of when it's fast, as well as letting us know some specific FPS numbers for the two versions in reproducible situations (say the start of willow creek or something before you move the camera)? I posted in the beta 1 test with all these things. My frame rate drops as low at ...

Sadly beta 2 did not resolve my problem with dropping frame rate. Exact same thing happens.

Dtex is off. Anisotropic Filtering is off. Texture Cache size is the same (144MB) in both. Both versions are in the same folder so they are using the same preferences file.

I've been having a problem with frame rates in 1.8 PB. In the latest Mazzarin's Demise (10a) when the action gets busy i.e. many monsters my frame rates drop appreciably, like to 12 fps. They pick right back up again, but that seems to make it worse, my brain doesn't adjust to the variable frame rat...

Ah, no reflection map. That was my problem. Thanks. Spent so long on the color map and had such difficulty indexing and converting it, I just wanted a quick look at it.
