Re: 1.7.1 hosting issue
hello, i installed 1.7.1 yesterday on my mac os 10.6, and my ability to host was disabled (firewalled). i have confirmed this by re-downloaded 1.7.0 and hosting, which encountered no errors. any ideas? Is your firewall such that you are allowing the specific executable file and you haven't updated ...

Re: The Seventh God
Someone should just update TSG and fix all the issues. Be done with it. I've sent a message to Clem asking if it would be all right with him for me to post an update to TSG on the OoH site. I'll let you know whether it's a "go" or not. Then perhaps those of you who know the issues can det...

Re: The Trow
I only started in the Myth storyline from Myth II (1999), but to me they always seemed to have an arrogance about them. They never struck me as friendly or even indifferent. This could be simply because they don't really have to care when they live so long and they might see humans and the like as w...

Re: Random maps
[offtopic] hypercard was the most interesting application-content-creation environment i've ever experienced. of all the pre-OSX technologies, that is the one thing i really wish Apple had ported to run in OSX. so easy to program in, so extensible, so magical. double rainbows all the way. No idea i...

Re: Script Verification Tool
iron, you would *love* PHP. Seriously. I'm a vintage programmer as well and loved programming C/C++ in a *nix environment for a long time. Then was heavily into Borland C++ and Delphi on Windows for years, but took all my favorite *nix tools with me (vi editor, awk, grep, etc.). PHP is heavily based...

Re: So, what are we all working on?
I agree with iron that getting the old stuff finished is a great thing. Why not have categories? * Solo - Completely New * Multi - Completely New * Solo - Based on previous work * Multi - Based on previous work I have a multi Dorfball map I'd love to finish. :) I think a long time frame is good too....

Stanton Friedman tends to be critical of hoaxes in the UFO field, and this was his take on Bob Lazar from 1997: http://www.stantonfriedman.com/index.php?ptp=articles&fdt=1997.12.15 If you can sell enough books and videos to make a living, and the subject is something that is rife with hoaxes and...
