Re: The Wild West V2
There are at least two outstanding Wild West multiplayer maps out there. Maybe three, or so. Boot Hill: http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/wild-west-boot-hill Western Plain: http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/wild-west-snows-of-the-western-plain Wait, yes, three... Re: Similarities between the games Myth and diablo 3
As Jon God pointed out, these are archetypes that stretch to the beginning of all storytelling. Even the old D&D had its "Gas Spore" creature. And the guy on a stake? Been around since guys and stakes. However, it is of course possible that the designer(s) took this stuff directly from...

My pleasure. Love digging up oldies that many have forgotten. Occasional gems in the lot.
Not always, but sometimes.

Tain Credits and Read Me Files
This has likely been addressed before, but wouldn't it be best to require that all submitted archives have a Read Me of some sort included? As it is, some items on The Tain arrive with cryptic names and no indication of what they are, what they do, who created them, and so on. It's especially annoyi...

Re: Sound Problems After Importing Imto Fear
This issue is very old, and seems to have nothing to do with Fear. I posted pretty extensively in the 1.8.1 beta discussion about it, along with GodzFire. What seems to be happening (since probably v1.7 was released several years ago) is that stereo sounds---even the "stock" stereo Bungie ...

Re: Myth II 1.8.1 Public Beta
Out of curiosity, I tried some quick troubleshooting with the above-mentioned sounds issue. Found something quite interesting, and maybe someone with real expertise will now be able to solve this, once and for all: Let's take the sound "ambient castle st" for example. It's a two-track ster...

Re: Myth II 1.8.1 Public Beta
Sound:
Forgot that another of the years old bad sounds was "amb day birds st". As with the previous situation, I'm running a corrected version in my own local folder.
Without the fix, the birds sound like a stoned flute.

Re: Myth II 1.8.1 Public Beta
Wondering if a couple sound issues have been addressed in this new version. I've noticed since about 2011 that quite a few sounds having separated stereo tracks will not play correctly (on the Mac side, anyway). They'll come across substantially slowed, often sounding like a whine. If it happens to ...

Not sure why I'm not getting how this is done, but how does one add a map preview thumbnail to an upload?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It should be noted that I did not create any of those six maps, but merely uploaded for posterity. Admins, please change the authorship to the respective owners when you can. Many thanks. Re: Displacement map rescue mission.
There's an old utility for the Mac called "Textura" (written by Kim Foo-Jones, 1998) that works miracles on plugins, but not clear if it would pull from M2 files. Performs amazingly well on TFL stuff, though. Will extract every aspect of a map, and more. It's the only way I ever managed to...
