Re: Passability Editing

I can confirm that Option-clicking on a Mac in Loathing 1.5.2 does NOT fill individual triangles.

However, you should try the new version of Loathing 1.7 (comes with the Myth 1.7 update). Option-clicking in the new version DOES work. ;)

Fear 1.7 crashes while creating detail maps/textures

Since the PB2 Bug Reporting thread is now locked, I'm assuming this is the place the post newly discovered bugs. If I try to create a new detail map in Fear, Fear will crash. Steps to reproduce: 1) Launch Fear 2) Double clip the 'detail maps' folder from Tags 3) Go to File > New Tag 4) Enter name of...

Re: 3 Myth III Wallpapers

Not to nitpic, but isn't the third picture just one of the game art pieces? I seem to recall it's a JPG in the game art (extracted with UnTag?). I think it's show/zoomed in as a level's narration is read.

That is, unless I'm mistaken. Maybe the game art is darker and this is a desktop?

Myth II 1.7

Just read through the change log. One item popped out and got me all excited: -Support for Quicktime cutscenes Maybe it's the video person in me, but this has been a long time coming. I've always felt that there's been a disconnect between units and their emotions strictly because we could never see...

My 2¢ on the website: I absolutely DESPISE sites that automatically play music. Maybe I already have iTunes playing music, or perhaps I'm on a shared computer with the speakers (accidentally) turned way up. Either way, the 'surprise' of hearing music (or an annoying ad congratulating me on having...

Yeah, it's labeled 'beta' for a reason. Vile - are you using it on a Windows machine? Gray & Godz, what platform are you on? (Gray, I'm assuming you're on a Mac?) Maybe someday I'll be able to update it. If you have a copy of RealBasic, the source code is in my uploads folder on uDogs HL.

This much I know: the M3 map format is very similar to the M2 map format. So much that Ballistic docs and/or Flying Flip docs say that in order to script M3 maps, you must use Loathing (as if it's a M2 map). So I'm guessing with a little ingenuity and some prying, you should be able to load the M3 m...

Going from memory here: I seem to recall the sound tag format is the same for M3 as it is for M1/2 (maybe some header differences). Therefore you should be able to use Fear to import a sound file (see Fear docs for proper sound format). Then use that newly-created tag in your M3 project.

Do you mean you're making an epic Neverending Story TC? And this is going to be for the Swamps of Sadness?

To echo Giz, there's two sides to porting maps: the big, easy chunks and the various and sundry tiny details. For instance, getting a cmap and units placed doesn't take very long. It's getting the water masked properly and reacting/looking like it should. It's getting the scripting to trigger just r...

Just throwing in my 2¢: Basically, converting Myth 3 maps to Myth 2 maps would be taking multiple JPEGs (each capable of producing millions of colors) and flattening them down and limiting it to 240 colors. But far be it from me to say 'don't do it'. Part of what makes it Myth is the grainy terra...

The problem is Myth isn't addictive enough. Think about it: WoW (and most Blizzard games for that matter) has succeeded in not only getting gamers interested but also hooking them and taking over their lives. Just when you're about to finish one quest, 3 more pop up. And all that time helps build ch...
