HE MEANS HIS SOUND DOESNT WORK IN MYTH. PERIOD.
Have you checked your preferences to make sure the volume is ON and turned UP?

I have, I've trashed my preferrencessesss... uh... file too, and tried every version of myth II I have (regular, 1.5, 1.5.1), I've tried without the local, and without the plugins... yesterday I came upon a troubeling revelation... I can't no sound in most other programs too. Only the finder and iTunes have sound, I'ma call for support today.
