I know that Fear has only a limited amount of 'slots' for tags but some of my collection references arent shown at all i.e. in the scenery editor. This happens only if I use them on special collections - for some collections they work, for some other they dont.
Example:
1) Collection: Tree col
Collection Reference used on 'Tree col': Tree core
-> 'Tree core' isnt shown in the Scenery Editor of Fear.
2) Collection Reference 'Tree core' is used on regular 'netgame scenery'.
-> 'Tree core' is shown in the Scenery Editor.
How can I fix this?
Thank you,
Phex
Fear - doesnt show all cores
Are they your own custom tree graphics? In Amber you have to set the collection usage. Hitting command+1 I believe it is, brings up a tiny window of the collection's uses. Make sure you select scenery and projectiles and you should be fine. Other options include Special Effects, Monsters etc.. If your collection is not set in the collection info to use scenery, it wont show up in Fear's menus for scenery items
Phex, don't know if this helps, but when I use Tahoe (dang, where is that Oak/WinAmber when you need it? :: looks around for Melekor :: ) I have to do the following with a custom/new collection that I've copied via Fear:
(1) Do "Collection -> Info..." and remember or write down the user flags that are checked.
(2) Uncheck all flags.
(3) Do "File -> Save"
(4) Do "Collection -> Info..." again and now recheck the items that were checked before.
(5) Finally, do "File -> Save" once more.
This took me literally hours of pulling my hair out to figure out once upon a time. For some odd reason those flags are not set until you *force* them like this, by unchecking everything, saving, checking what you want, and saving again.
Hopefully this will help with your custom/new stuff. I've used this for collections, scenery, and other goodies.

Wow, Baak! I just started struggling with the duplicate collection issue myself, and had become resigned to reinstalling Amber on my wife's Mac, transferring over files and expecting lots of frustration while trying to figure it out. Luckily, I first browsed across this thread by chance and discovered your solution, which I could do on my PC, and worked perfectly, btw! Thanks!
Heh, glad I found this so that you can have some closure, Phex.
TSG collections are locked, much like the entire TSG 1.4 plugin, so that they cant be extracted and used by others.
So stop it.
I have written permission from Cydonian to use his TSG units. Whithout telling you my opinion about "locking" tags and without the slightest purpose to start a flame war - please be a bit more liberal. :;):
Back to topic: The unavailability of tags does not only happen with TSG cores but also with tags I created on my own. I will try Baaks solution when I can access my files again, maybe it works. Thank you for the tip!

Phex.
