Before I would attempt it.
Is it possible to just make a plug that works on all meshes to make the wight not appear on overhead? All wights have the same tag right. I know the grub and barrow wights are this way, but they were in special plug though.

Or in the final 1.5 update, just have a button to make them invisible on overhead.

Thanks ppl!

Just make an invisible Wight tagset. Then ppl just need to enable it to have invisible wights.
This will work on any map w/ NORMAL wights.
If you want it to work on specific plugins, that have different wights, you will need to extract the monster tags from those plugins and edit them.

Yup it's possible, and it's nice and straight-forward too.
Just open up the monsters folder in Fear, and find all wight monsters (there are a few variations, some with flies, some without, some special solo ones you might want to change too for completeness).

Make them invisible on the overhead. Then in Fear tell it to make the plug-in and you're done, enable the plug when playing any map which features wights (if you're going to do it on a solo map then make sure to move the contents of your local folder), and they will be invisible on the overhead as you wanted :)
