When you guys made 1.5.1, or 1.5 even - did you change anything relating to...

When I try Freedom 2 on my PC, it works fine. It used to lock up on every level except the first one (I'm told, because of memory protection errors or something) and now it plays the whole thing just fine.

I haven't even begun trying to fix the scripting to combat this problem, so that's not why it's working suddenly.

Was this a thing that was changed in 1.5.1?

I still get crashed to the desktop if I try level 2 of Freedom 2 or the last level of Freedom 1, either in game or in Loathing. The other levels have never been a problem for me, but I don't think I played them prior to 1.5.1.

Hmmm. This is all very peculiar to me, because I had the same problem with Freedom 2. All of a sudden though, my PC is running it. Wierd.

As for the finale of Freedom 1 - I really don't know what was wrong with that, every computer I ever try it on plays it just fine. If I knew where to being, I might've attempted a fix.

If it's a memory protection problem, then it should affect OS X too, mac classic lacked memory protection, allowing programs to alter memory belonging to other things, this was bad, however, myth could occasionally do this depending on the scripting used, because classic mac didn't catch this, it wouldn't crash. With windows and os x, we have protected memory, so when something like that happened, it would kill the program and tell you about it (this is a good thing beleive it or not).

As for whether or not anything was fixed, I believe the answer is yes, but i'm not sure if it was in 1.5, or 1.5.1, and I'm not sure exactly what actions were fixed, or to what extent. Best to wait for an answer from someone who was on that development team ::looks at myrd::.

Doh! I meant to put the reply I received from GHOST on map action problems from earlier versions of Myth here instead of over at the "Help on Patching a Plug" thread in Technical Support...

Rather than repeat it again here I'll just put in a link:
Help on Patching a Plug thread

Thought the info from GHOST might help. :)
