The new v1.5.1 can handle up to 6,000 units, we've seen that with Mazzarin's Demise (totally insane but AWESOME!). However, when I try to modify an original M2 SP map, that really annoying unit disappearing act occurs. To be more specific, I have a force of enemy that are numbered at about 800+, and friendlies with about 200+, in Loathing. When I load the map ingame, about 60 of the friendlies appear and no more than about 250 enemies are loaded.
Whats the trick to getting a huge number of enemy forces?
keep in mind, that I am running a Mac, so I don't have access to Fear. I really would like to know, because this has been irking me for a while now...
thanx to any and all help provided.
How do you keep units from disappearing??? - How do you get above the unit limit???

Only something like 380 Units can be visbile on a bare map at one time. If you set additional units to be invisible and activate them thru a script, as the units currently on your map die off only then can you attain "more".

Some additional thoughts: If you don't want to use scriptingm you can just use Death Match mode. Also it might be kind of interesting to have one unit (a king, perhaps), or group of units (horn blowers, etc) on the battlefield who call in reinforcements thru taunting, or mana. If your opponent kill these units, they effective knock out their opponents command structure, you could also make this effect moral. This type of arrangement would be akin to battles of yore where you'd have infantry and cavalry, and reserves, and you'd have someone deciding when "to send in teh reserves."
Gug luck.
