Should Magma make more updates?

Yes, I have a 11 page feature request list typed and ready to post.

Yes, if Myth stagnates it'll die sooner rather than later.

Depends on what new features would be added, but I guess so.

Some of you know that the Project Magma programmers are almost done with a 1.5.2 version of Myth. Other than a vTFL bug fix, it has no changes in it that will affect compatability with 1.5.1, so unless you want to play vTFL, or avoid certain crashes that can still occur in 1.5.1, you don't have to switch.

But, out of curiosity, what do you people think about Magma eventually making a bigger update with wild new map-making features and stuff? Note this poll has not been sanctioned by any of the programmers.

I don't know shit from shit about the inner workings of Magma, but I was under the impression that there weren't going to be any more big updates.

But YEAH, it's a brilliant idea! There are still neat ideas kicking around.
Okay I got the models but now I'm too dumb to do anything with 'em

well basically take for instance a couple of innovations that came with upgrades and that basically make life rock for mapmakers:

multiple artifacts that your units can carry & inventory
morale
ability to use a new animation when charging
increased number of units/projectiles in maps
models that you could place on a map increased from 128 to 512
and etc

just by those few upgrades out of the ton of upgrades that were done the maps are much more cooler than before.
Don't want to sound like a cheerleader but definitely if you guys are going to come up with cooler stuff, I'm on for the ride

one thing id like fixed is :

When using scripted respawning for the units on multiplayer, they are detached back to the team captain. That team captain then has to detach units back to his teammates. I think its very irritating and lots of very very interesting stuff could be done if the player kept control of the respawned units :)

I'd really love it if there were more specific projectile damages. Instead of just slashing, kinetic, explosive, unit objects should have the option to be particularly vulnerable to individual projectiles (maybe a whole list or whatever). Like I dunno, a horse object should be extra weak against spearman_thrust or whatever. Stuff like that, could lend a new level of neatness.

Okay, not a major thing.,..but in Myth II: TFL, are Trow supposed to spray blood? Been a while since I've played the original TFL...

As previously mentioned, I've got an 11-page feature request list and the willingness to do whatever I can to help with it :)

Maybe it's impossible but....colour maps could maybe be indexed to more than 256 colors?
could units walk with one click and run with 2 clicks?
I know it would possibly mean being a different game no?
hehehe

That would make it a different game and increase needless micromanagement.

Frankly unless its...

1. Compatible with current patch
2. Fixing a fairly major gameplay bug.
3. Needed for new OS

..then no more patches are needed.

All the suggestions seem to be 'mapmaker' suggestions and I don't think thousands of people want to spend hours downloading (damn 56k'ers) a patch thats only added mapmaking features that they'll never use.
