A point of curiosity:

The COD level pack contains three levels, labeled 3, 8, and 9. There is no indication in the plug that it was supposed to just be a beta release, but the numbering suggests that they were planning to make more levels. I know about Ire and 500 Poisons, of course, but that still doesn't make nine. Were there ever any others that got lost with the Mill, or can be found in beta form somewhere?

along with 500 poisons, and the 3 levels, there is 'CoD: Banks of Ire'
i think it was defending a river after the winter at seven gates when the forest giants didnt return or something.

i remember there was another map pack being created by creation near the end of their days, and i remember talking to one of them and said they cancelled due to 'not being able to get things accurate enough' or sometihng. but i cleary remember one of the levels being called 'whisper of the wind age' or something, and it was to replay the myth 1 prologue, where the berserk goes and fetches the head in the tombs. it had plans for intense swordfighting between the berserk and a special mymidon and layed back undead guards, like walking mymidons.

however i dont know of any detas

I mailed Clem about it yonks ago, there was indeed a level which was supposed to be like the TFL cutscene.

However I think they ditched it largely because it wasn't a very complicated level and basically was nothing new (just the cutscene, done in level form).

I still would like to have seen it, and I've always wondered if there were more CoD levels (probably all gone in a horrible HD crash or something).
Okay I got the models but now I'm too dumb to do anything with 'em

It wouldn't have made a very interesting level anyway. One melee unit? Eh.

One-melee-unit levels were always on the cards for Freedom Ciddo! Often I imagined scouting or rescue levels where a unit like Scotty or something might have to trek across a big level and do lots of neat stuff...
And with 1.5, it's not just a melee unit, he can have an inventory!

I say it would've been at least a little fun.

I could make the Berserk and the artifacts needed for attacks! Maybe I could use the Hi Res one that Iron Duke made...

That level was offloaded to Discordia back when our old mapmaking group Smiths of Muirthemne was running. He did quite a bit of work on it, but Clem/Ares weren't happy with the direction he took it in & asked that the project be cancelled.

Such is life.

That's the ticket see - one can do whatever they want with something that's been made for Myth (if you can believe the disclaimers BUNGiE made us put on our maps). So yeah, that doesn't mean it's polite, but there you have it! :D

Being polite never gets you anywhere. >_>

Why did they ask it be cancelled?

This is totally unjustified, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's cause Clem is teh suxorz.

Discordia placed models such as ruined buildings & so on to make it look like the tfl intro cutscene, where the zerk is escaping from muirthemne. Ares & Clem didn't like it and said that wasn't the artistic vision they'd had for the level. Hence they requested that it be cancelled and all copies destroyed (which they were).

As Ares did most of the work on it, it was his call as to whether he liked Disc's work or not and whether it should be released. To be honest, the level wasn't great anyway - as someone said, just one melee unit isn't fun. I think they really felt it wasn't up to Creation's standards which is why they didn't finish it themselves in the first place.

It just shows the danger of advertising something before you know its fun and are sure it'll be finished. Not that Magma has ever made that mistake *cough*Tain*splutter*LoE*cough*

"Hence they requested that it be cancelled and all copies destroyed (which they were)"

That's desperately pathetic. What, how could they possibly check if it was deleted or not?

"Oh hi Clem. Yeah SURE I wiped that thing out! Of course I did, after all we've been through! Take care of yourself good buddy, hahaha, go get back to what you do best..."

(puts phone down)

(goes back to making level)

Seriously. Deleting something because someone on the internet asks you to is the biggest case of overkill you can go for. They'll never know if you just, I dunno... keep a copy somewhere.

"whoa whoa... tain and loe canceled?"

Heck it's been this long, I wouldn't be surprised! :D
