I recently bought an unopened copy of Myth Worlds and installed the plugins for WW2 Titans. Earlier, I tried to install Blue and Grey from an internet download.

What happens is, the scenarios show up when I press shift and select a new game, then they load, but at that point, I get bounced back to the main menu. The only Myth game that has actually worked for me besides Soulblighter is Green Berets.

How can I get my plugins to work? I desperately want to play WW2, Blue & Grey and Jinn and all the rest.

Go to our downloads page and get 1.5.1. Or even better pickup the 1.5.2 beta at http://myth.busybsoftware.com.

But if you do want the 1.5.2 beta patch... install 1.5.1 first.

Thanks very much, guys! I downloaded the patch and this time, when I started the scenarios using the plugins, I actually got to the game! However, due to the fact that I am using my wife's ancient Flintstone computer since the kids wrecked mine, the patch makes Myth almost unplayable as the screen freezes up constantly.

Curses!

I'm using patch 1.5.1

I think the problem lies with the system. Its an ancient HP Pavillion, 700 mhz, 64 mb 20 gig harddrive. I've got resolution set at 630 x 480 and set everything as low as I could. For rendering, I have tried the 'software' option and the option for 'direct 3d intel 82810 graphics card'. Both are so choppy that I can't play the game. I just get a sequence of bloody stills of my guys getting blown to kingdom come. I tried the OpenGL option as well, but I don't think this crappy machine even has OpenGL, as the screen stayed black when I tried this method.

Forgive me, but I'm not too sharp at tweaking systems or even identifying them. I mainly just play games and surf the net. My buddy back in my hometown was my tech support, but since I moved, I've been helpless. My kids totalled my own computer's OS and I don't have the original disk to reinstall it, so I got out my old 1997-2001 games to play on my wifes' computer. Myth II worked ok before I patched it to 1.5.1, except I was unable to play any plugins (except the commercially available Green Berets conversion), which was tormenting me.

That computer is plenty fast enough to play myth, but it might be a bit short on RAM since you're sharing that for video. In any case, that machine desperately needs at least 256mb of RAM given how fast it is. That will definately be the best bang for your buck in terms of upgrading that computer.

Yes 1.5.x uses more RAM then 1.3 did and with shared ram for the video 256mb is pretty low, esp if you have antivirus, AIM, etc running on it.

If he's still on Windows 98, he should be able to get by playing Myth II if he upgrades to 128 MB ram. If it's Windows XP, then 256 should be the minimum.

yeah, he could get by with 128mb and win 98, but even then I'd highly recommend 256mb or more for a computer of that speed.

hell, my old 266MHz machine came with 64mb of ram, and it benifitted from an upgrade too.
