I agree. It was better off with that odd open ending it had...and besides, everybody's dead.
I remember seeing a new hardcover book by Glen Cook in a bookstore relatively recently. It looked really good, but it wasn't TBC (can't remember what it was about though).
A-Red, it's a new series called Instrumentalities of the Night with the first book being Tyranny of the Night. Cook's style is the same but it was a bit of a let down for me as I enjoyed the Black Company books a great deal more.. still some very interesting ideas and cool characters though..
I enjoyed the Black Company books. I only read up until after the Dominator tried to return though, I should probably buy the books after that to see what the rest are like as I think that's only the first 3 or 4 I've read.
