We have the technology...
We have the technology...
Check this out: I found a PowerPC emulator called SheepShaver, which is capable of running OS9. It took me a while to get it working, but I finally got it.
Here's a screen of Amber running under OS9, running under SheepShaver, running under XP
Now I can finally have a chance to use these apps again (my last mac died years ago) as a reference for designing Oak.

To get this running, you basically need to acquire an "old-world" 4MB Mac OS Rom image, and a copy of OS9. I still have my OS9 CD but getting a rom image that actually worked took a while. I tried about 8 of them I found on the net (and they're not easy to find) before finding one that worked.
There will be plenty of lovin' for all. (i.e. Yes.)Death's Avatar wrote: Is Oak gonna be a windows only sort of deal? Or will there be lovin' for us mac users too?

Man, I soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo want Oak!
OAK! OAK! OAK!
Ok... I'm calm again now. Smile
Oak is still going to be a while. However, I have (recently) decided that certain features will not make it to the first release, which will speed up the first release.
If you look in Melekor's website in the "Abandoned Projects" page, you see what's left of it. It includes the Medic.
Melekor, good luck with Oak. Will it be a Universal version or at least run well in "Rosetta" on intel macs? Mac Users will soon be eaten up by the intel macs unless we give Apple a lot of money!
