Map action to move objects

Post by Khadrelt »

Is there a map action that can pick up a netgame ball and drop it in another location?

I ask because I'm making a soccer-like netgame, and I want to be able to move the ball back to the middle of the map if it goes out-of-bounds.

I'm not quite sure how they did it in Fetchball but it should definetely be worth some of your time with the kind of plugin you're trying to make..

Wow, that's a pretty cool plugin. I'd never seen it before.

There are a few people still playing it, well, at request at least..

It's an awesome piece of work, I bet there's stuff in there that you could put to good use, with the Vista people's consent of course..

There's also Canyon Del Muerto which I believe has a much more simplistic version of a soccer game called "Trow Soccer".

As I recall the scripting is much more basic, using "game goals" and such, whereas Fetchball does some fancy stuff with multiple balls off-field (cool in itself but more advanced).

I would recommend looking at both, but CDM might be a bit less overwhelming to start with. ;)
