ok, i made the map, i go to save it as a bitmap, and i know i need to save it at 8-bit and uncompressed, but photoshop wont give me that option

whats the deal here?

Color map save it as a bmp then index it to 240 colors max with dither set at like 60% is a good.. size of map must be divisible by 256 pixels.
if one does not learn from the failings of the past they are likely to suffer its return.

well, its a 2040 x 1796 or something like that, i know it needs to be divisible by 256, but how do i index it to 240 colors and set 60% dither?

At the top, there should be a toolbar that says something (it might be mode, I'm not sure). When you open it, it gives you the option of RGB, Grayscale, Index, etc..., pick Index. A pop-up will open, and you should change the color count to 240.

When you save it, save it as a .bmp. It will bring up another pop-up, and 8-bit should be an option. Select it, and you now have a color map importable into Loathing.

(Sorry this wasn't better, I suck at tutorials)
