The Total Codex

Post by Studbeefpile »

How many CD's does Myth: The Total Codex have? I'm thinking of buying it off the net but want to make sure what's in the pack before I go looking on e-bay and what-not. And I take it all manuals and those strategy guides are in PDF format?

Cheers

It's got 3 disks: a main installation disk with the manuals/plugins, one for TFL and one for SB. The manuals are in PDF.

Thanks A-Red. I have Myth I & II so I'm not sure if it's worth buying the Total Codex. Are the strategy guides any good? Is there enough bonus stuff to warrant a purchase?

Not if you have both games. The plugins that come with it are all available for free download at various community sites. The strategy guides are good, but not enough to warrant re-buying the games. In fact, you might be able to find the PDFs somewhere online too. Vinylrake might have them in his map atlas, or they might be on udogs somewhere.

Ok then, I'm having no luck in finding the strategy guides so hopefully someone has a link.

Edit: Not to worry, I've found them.

I find the strategy guides rather amusing, actually. Particularly that part that says Journeymen carry 'long axes' to defend themselves.

I bought Myth Anthology few months ago, there was Total Codex and Myth 3. It was cheap, something about 25zł, it's 8 dollars. And it was in Polish, but I'm still using English version, because there is Myth 1.6 and Fear with Loathing (and other stuff).

Yeah, I bought this in my travels through Poland. I don't use it because like you said, Project Magma updates can't be installed on it. Plus my English is heaps better than my Polish, so just easier playing my original copies.

Edit: Is the latest patch for Myth III v1.1?

1.2
1.02 ?

Only interesting thing about polish release of Myth Anthology was that it was first Myth release on DVD. Generally it was crappy - poor manual, no myth history or units description, a note that bungie net do no exist anymore and then 3 pages "how to log on b.net" ;) so i also stick with older copies.

Btw where r u from Studbeefpile?

These blokes seem to have v1.3.1 for Myth III, but I don't know what version is mostly used on the net...

Australia, but come from a Polish background which is why I was over there recently. I was really impressed with how cheap games are over there! Not to mention so many classics (like Myth) getting distributed again.

Yeah, it wasn't the best, but I bought it. Maybe just to have Polish version of Myth in my collection :D

Yes, they are cheapper than in the other countries, but for most of Poles new games are still so expensive. Fortunately, classics like Myth are really cheap.
