Tag Extractor

Post by Viktor »

Anyone know where to find a Tag Extractor for PC? A link to one from a much older post seems dead. Like UnTag, or something. Not Topaz- I have Topaz, and it seems limited in many ways.

How exactly Topaz is limited? Is UnTag much better(?), cause I'm using Topaz.

TagExtractor is a Mac only program.

Untag is a Mac/Windows/Unix program which does most/all(?) of what Tag Extractor does. So if you are looking for a program to extract Myth tags that runs in Windows, you should try UnTag.

Being a mac user I have no idea what features Topaz has vs what UnTag has, but since UnTag is a windows program you could always download it and see for yourself.

I didn't know UnTag worked for PC. As for Topaz, I don't know how to extract multiple tags from a plugin with it- only one at a time. Maybe its just me, but I don't think it has that option. But anyway, thanks for the link.

There are actually two different Topaz apps around. One has the Disassemble and the other does not. You want version 1.0.0.1...

Ill look around for it..or Ill just upload it if I cant find it.
do it.

As Pyro says.

(1) Empty your myth "local" folder.
(2) Open the plugin you want to "disassemble" via Topaz.
(3) Select "Disassemble..." and choose your Myth "local" folder as destination.

From there open Fear/Loathing and enjoy! :)

Been using it for years...

Yeah, Baak. I'm using it too and I've never had any problems, so I was a little suprised hearing that Topaz is "limited in many ways".

I'm sure I asked about this somewhere, probably one of the Mazz discussions as I was running the old version of Topaz earlier which 'caused me some headache when decompiling bigger plugins as I had to go through them one by one.

I'm fairly certain I got the new one from the uDogs hotline: http://hl.udogs.net/files/Gaming/%20Myt ... /Topaz.zip

Just as an FYI: UnTag also has an "Extract All" option quickly dump everything in a plugin. (From what I'm reading, sounds just like the Topaz dissassemble.)
