Cant load my own sound tags anymore!?!

I installed Myth II on my new XP computer. Years ago I changed some
sounds in Fear, for example the mainmenue1 or the voices. Although
the other modifications work (Color of clothes, number of figures on the map) I cant hear any of my own sounds...!?!?!

Ok...thats really strange:

If the windows media player plays music in the background while I play myth II, THAN the music files work...!???!

I dont know... Maybe a problem with the whole windows XP stuff...
There are other problems, I cant uninstall Myth II:"Couldnt find Uninst.isu"
But the game is working fine I think... When I turn off the menu sound and after that I turn it on then my own soundfiles work, otherwise NOT...
