Missing "Flag Lost" during conclusion of Sudden Death?

We've seen this happen a couple of times over the past few weeks but really noticed it in our last Saturday match:

* During a Sudden Death on LMOTH there is no announcement of "Flag Lost" to indicate to the remaining players that someone has taken full control of the flag from its previously contested state. Suddenly it's Game Over.

Is this the way it has always been?

This seemed to surprise everyone the couple of times we've seen it happen.

I believe it's always been like that. If it's sudden death, you don't technically own the flag, so you don't lose it...

That sounds right to me. Think it was the fact that several of us were "surprised" that I started wondering...
