Lag in 1.6

Post by Cobalt 7 »

Alright. I've been playing with the Myth Jumpers ever Friday since May. Things normally run fine for us, as we normally ran 1.5.1, or some of us tinkered with 1.5.2 builds.

We never had a problem.

However 1.6 is now causing some serious problems for us. When Our host uses 1.6, we experience a great deal of Lag. It makes Myth unplayable. I don't know how many of the others were also on 1.6.

I've been running 1.6 since the beta back in september on my PPC iMac, and we've had no problems with my running 1.6 and host running 1.5.1.

We have no idea what's going on. The Host is on 56k, but that's never been a problem for us before.
I decided to look up in the sky, and lo and behold there was a BoB. I stared at him, and he stared back. There was silence for a great while until he said in a thunderous, booming voice..."Okay, Okay, DON'T Frogblast the ventcore."

Make sure you're all on build 290. Type .version . The initial release of 1.6 for PC was broken.

That's probably the problem, but Even in 1.6 beta we were all having trouble. I'll ask them to give it a go, but don't expect a miracle.

Is the host on Windows? If so, tell him or her to try the "Classic" build of 1.6 (you can choose this during installation). This one should act identical to 1.5.1 when it comes to interfacing with Windows.
