What ever happened to Myth 40k?
What ever happened to Myth 40k?
I was browsing around hl.udogs, and I found some materials on a Warhammer 40k plugin for myth. But it looks like it was never completed.
What's up?
What's up?
I decided to look up in the sky, and lo and behold there was a BoB. I stared at him, and he stared back. There was silence for a great while until he said in a thunderous, booming voice..."Okay, Okay, DON'T Frogblast the ventcore."
You probably know as much as I do since I've never played the WarHammer plugs/maps but I've seen the following Warhammer 40k related files:
Warhammer 40K : Heretic Mapset
Warhammer 40K : Heretic Units
WWII : WarHammer 40k : Titans (aka WarHammer40,000)
The Titans plug was a betaI think the others *might* have been completed.

Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.

Anyone know how to contact him? I'd love to try out his beta. I wonder how far it is from completion...

I don't know how to contact him (have you tried a PM here?), but I managed to dig out the following from my map archives. I've rezipped the two sets with cleaned up read me files (Mac readme's often are unreadable on PC's due to linefeed character issues):
WarHammer40K MapSet v1.2 and Units v1.0
WarHammer40K WWII v1.1
Note sure if these are different from the ones on HL.

That's not true. Mac readmes are unreadable in Notepad on PCs because notepad is retarded. Any other text editor (including even Wordpad!) opens them fine. Notepad should be replaced with a more competent text editor on every Windows machine.Baak wrote:Mac readme's often are unreadable on PC's due to linefeed character issues

True - however, most people on PC's use Notepad by default to open txt files and are faced with one huge chunk of essentially unreadable text.Myrd wrote:That's not true. WordPad is evil imo as well for other reasons.
I use vi[m] for most of my text work and they do indeed look fine.
I wasn't dissing Macs by any means. I wrote a little script that went through all the readme's in my archives and simply cleaned them up.
It's just unfortunate that the default text viewer on the PC - even with XP Pro (and probably Vista) - is Notepad.

Well that was kinda a bummer.
The units played like WW2, looked a little dull, and moved a tad choppily...
To tell the truth, I was expecting it to be Myth,

Needs more "SF2" style machine guns, etc..."but going 130 miles and hour, through a hospital zone, being chased by Ninjas...oh and the Ninjas are on fire too."

And I thought it was Solomon's fault!

Having fun with poser horses and pasted-on Warrior torsos since 1990!™
The origanl version was created by someone else..it only had one unit though.
Im a big fan of WH40k and started making 12 new units for it. I did not make the WWII version.
I modified that version for the new myth update and it is in my udogs folder I think, if not I can upload it there
If people are interested Ill follow through and finish what I started.
BTW my email is posted here
---------EDIT----------------
I just went over my files and I think the last version I made was on my other computer (mac) that I no longer have
The version that I do have needs work and Ill look into it.
Im not sure if I have my current email here right so here it is:
