Lost Map ???

Post by vinylrake »

Anyone ever hear of a Myth 2 map called "The Bleached Stones Turned Black" by the Badlands mapmaking group? Or better yet, if it's not some common map that got renamed, does anyone know where I can get a copy of it?

There was a QTimeVR movie of it at the mythvillage site on Jan 15, 2003. The copyright notice says the films are all copyright 1999 so I don't know if the map is really that old, or if that is a standard badlands copyright note. Other Badlands maps that were on the same page were For Frostbite Apply Within, and Garden of Segesta.
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.

It sounds a little bit like Red Sand, Black Blood. I don't remember who made that one and wouldn't know if it's the same. It's hard to believe a map by such a high-profile group as Badlands would have just gone missing.

I can confirm that Badlands made Red Sand, Black Blood... it's a fairly standard ffa tourney choice.

Aye, it's a fun Badlands map - although you tend to auto-attack the wolves! (which happens on other maps like Eyrie)

I've gone through my collection of files and have nothing matching "bleach" and the names matching "black" don't look like it at all.

VR: Do you actually have the movie? Or is it just the title?

I don't have the map. I don't have the QTVR.

All I have is a mention of the map on a page from an archive of http://mythvillage.org made back in December 2003.

Of course now when I go to find the page I can't, but I'll try to remember to look for it again next week when I have a fast connection.
