I usually get on between 20:00 and 21:00 Pacific. That's a horrible time GMT. Ask Dant! Speaking of whom, there are loads of European players. You must unite! Form a Myth European Union (MEU)! And pledge to play in the dead of night so you can join in when I play ;)

Early afternoons usually and on occasion a night. I am in bed by 9pm eastern..so I miss most of the Creamy Myth Fun. I am also known to hit the mornings as well. To make my post longer (which you all are dying for  ) I try to jump on when someone posts a specific game night!

There will be no need to "link" your game login to your web login like you had to on MythForums as they will all be the same thing. You will log into the web site with your Mariusnet game login & password. One username & Password will do it all.

Order Logos and all that other stuff is already in the process of being ported over (in fact, all existing Orders have already been ported).
This will be very cool indeed. If not for fear of jinxing this project with the Myth Vaporware Curse, I would ask for a rough time estimate of when things might be rolling out. Instead I'll just wait for news...
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.

it's a shame less than half of our members bothered to 'join' the Clan Plaid order at myth forums, or it would have truly been scary (:

Clan Plaid is to the rest of the Myth orders as King Kong is to a roomful of chimpanzees.

i think a much better acronym is produced by "European Mythers' Union"... ;)

but that might just be because i think some birds are inherently more amusing than the sound that cats make. :)

would the European Union of Myth say anything in latin, i wonder?

As I stated earlier in the thread (in my initial post), I'm shooting for the 23rd of this month, but hoping for sooner. I just need to finish up the Clan/Orders functions before I can launch the site.

I just blew off a day of work and finished the 'Create New Clan' and 'Leave Clan' functions. Now I just need to hammer out Disband, Invites, Edit Clan Info & Manage Clan (including Boot Members). With that, I'll feel comfortable launching. Hell, it'd already be done if I didn't have to completely rebuild & rewrite all of the existing MythForums functionality. The only part of it I could port was the concepts, lol. Then again... I wrote that crap so long ago that it was truly ugly and could use a good rewriting, hehe

I've never really understood the purpose of clans. Is it just another word for 'teams' or is there more to it? Are there dark secretive rituals involved? Do you get shot if you try to leave?

I could answer that, but then I'd have to kill you.

The purpose of a clan is as varied as the Clans themselves. Some, like `Clan Plaid` or `Regular Order of Fries`, go past the game in which they are created and become a group of people that actually know each other, playing a lot of different games together.... actually, probably all of the older Clans probably fall into this category.

Some do it just because they're a bunch of folks that always seem to end up playing in the same game types... so they make a clan. My first clan, Acid Lords (#@L#) was like this... a bunch of Mudpit (Dark) junkies :p
Others do it for competitive reason... because they like to team up and play other Clans/teams
Yet others do it just because they think they need a clan for some reason... like a sense of belonging
Some do it because they think it's funny to have some stupid ass clan name in their profile.

I do it because all of the really hot chicks dig guys in clans. Image

IMO..clans are basically a bunch of ppl you like to play Myth with and watch your back when your not online. Like grade school :)
It was more serious in days past..when there were huge team games and each clan had a map they were great at and there were clan feuds...ohhh wow that was fun. Clans would ally together and have fun clan matches. Like the Tank Clan (A clan I used to be in) was feverous about Creep and desert. They were very tough on these maps. Which clan you were in also kinda let ppl know your Myth'n personality. Some clans were rankhoorz..some were coop clans and some just great ppl to play some games with. Since I spent soo many years playing team games (rare thing now) I am having an even harder time getting used to FFA..which I totally suk at. Damn that brings back memories ::looks at collection of 800 TFL films::

That kinda sums up what they were to me and some others. There are still some clans that are pretty tight and still get on and play..I think OoH still has gatherings on some Sat. nights. Tanks I know have holiday gatherings and ect. Rituals are secret and I can't tell you about that. Myth clans are blood in...blood out.

Edit: PPE beat me....It is true with knowing them in real life..that is how ye travel to distant lands and get lodging for free.

PPE stop hoggin the girls..you have Put-out Bay up there..err Put-in Bay I mean. Ranked number 2 in the US for easiest place to get laid..fine parties there on the weekends!

For me Myth orders have been groups of people I like to play with and get along with.

The Order List that you see when you're in the Myth lobby lets you easily see and find your order mates in whatever rooms they may be in. In that sense the Order List is a big semi-permanent Buddy List, letting you find your friends easily.

On pmnet both the order list and the buddy list have 16-person limits. I hate having to drop a buddy off in order to add a new one. "Heh, which 'friend' should I axe from my list to make room for this new friend?" is always a toughie for me. I usually decide on dumping a buddy I haven't seen in the longest time, but that's hard too because if they ever do show up again I'd damn well want to meet up.

It looks like mnet won't have the 16-person Order List maximum number, that it'll be more or less infinitely expandable. I hope the Buddy List is similarly expandable. That'll be great!
