Myth Football test

Post by Khadrelt »

I've recently updated my old Myth: The Football League map that I did waaayyy back when. Hopefully it's better this time around.

Anyway, there's only so much testing I can do myself, so I've uploaded it to my uDogs folder (http://hl.udogs.net/files/Uploads/%20Us ... ta%201.zip) for anyone who's got a spare minute and would like to try it out for me. (Just copy and paste the link - I couldn't get the url function to work right.)

It's in beta form right now, so I'm going to hold off putting it on the Tain until I can get the wrinkles ironed out. I'll welcome any bug reports and suggestions for improvement—I'm not the greatest when it comes to unit selection, as anyone who's played any of my netmaps could probably attest. :)

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I just realized I didn't include a readme in the download, but there are really only a couple of things that ought to be noted.

First, in the Myth Super Bowl, a few useful artifacts are being carried by some of the ambient deer.

Second, there's a new unit, the Celtic Mage. They start out as little more than slightly tougher Berserks, but they have the unique ability to use the body parts of other Mages to enhance their powers.

Third, the unarmed Soulblighter in the Super Bowl has been modified to make him not so tough. He has less health and is not immune to arrows.

Updated? I don't remember the first one....unless you mean TFL's "North Zerk 40" I think that was the name of it.

I don't think it's related to North's Zerk 40... but now that you have talked about it, I'm curious about something.
It's the only TFL map that uses that "Rugby" game type that came with M1, right? Did Bungie had any plans to make a rugby map or something?

When I said waaayyy back when, that's what I meant. I put the original Myth Football League on the Mill back in the days when you had to dodge dinosaurs on your way to school...Anyway, it wasn't very good and never got many downloads.

Most Mythers around now probably don't have it, or have never even heard of it. That's probably a good thing.

If it's the football field map where you can do a solo with soulblighter(and the deceiver and I forget who else) running around like homicidal mass murdering lunatics mowing down hundreds of enemies I've spent many enjoyable hours on that map getting rid of pent up aggression.

Uh...if there was a solo map in the Football map I made, I don't remember about it. Was there another map set on a football field? I don't think I've ever seen another one. Sounds fun, though - do you still have it?

I never throw anything away so chances are I have it _somewhere_ on a hard drive or CD. Remind me by the weekend if I haven't mentioned it - I'll try to rememember to look for it.
