Myth 2 Crashing

Hey guys I just got a brand new computer, its a dell xp and about 80% of the time i run myth it crashes. A message comes up telling me that something is installed wrong and it says winsys32 failed. Then i have to reboot. But 20% of the time it lets me go on and play a few myth games and then eventually it just crashes. This message also started appearing for my other games like wc3. So i uninstalled myth 2 and the problem persisted, sometimes my computer crashes when i just click on internet explorer. Any ideas whats causing this/ how i can fix it?

Sounds like a corrupted Windows installation or faulty hardware. Does your Dell come with some kind of rescue facility which will wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows for you? Could your computer have malware on it?

If you continue to have problems, they will tell you to buy a Mac.
I would do what SCS said. I had a similar problem with one of my old computers.

yeah, restored my computer and the message goes away. As soon as i run myth 2 the message shit starts up again. FUCK, anybody think theres anyway to fix this shit?

isnt it kind of hard to get a trojan directly after you wipe out your hard drive and the only action you take is installing myth?

also i dont think my win32k.sys is an .exe file, not sure on that

You didn't write win32k.sys, you wrote winsys32

Also i learned a little bit more about the error, its a blue screen error the error code is STOP: 0x00000050. The guy at dell thought it was my video card but then again all he really did was wipe my hard drive to get rid of the problem. I dont think he really cared if i could play myth or not

umm hmm, not sure I believe this is what dell had me do, and after i installed a bunch of video drivers the problem began happening more frequently, ill try this link though

Ok it's probably not that then. Likely it's either a faulty hard disk or the RAM

This program can be burned to CD/RW and booted and then it tests your RAM for you.

It's possible the factory Bios RAM settings are excessive or the modules are faulty.

actually it might be this trend micro antivirus thing that comes with the computer. As soon as computer is booted you are prompted to install it and as soon as it is installed it puts some win32 files/applications on your computer. Strangeeee, but i dont have to time to check any of this right now
